Since our announcement of the host country as Indonesia, we have been working to finalise the details and are now very pleased to announce that the inaugural IAM World Memory Championship will take place on:

1-3 December 2017 at Mercure Convention Center Ancol, Jakarta

The IAM WMC 2017 will be held at one of the best recreation areas in Jakarta, Ancol Dreamland. Ancol Dreamland is an integral part of Ancol Bay City, a resort destination with beaches, a theme park, traditional market places, an oceanarium, a golf course, and marina (visit https://www.ancol.com/en for more information).  The competition will be held at Mercure Convention Centre Ancol (http://bit.ly/K9PuC1). It is connected to the hotel and you can enjoy a special rate as a WMC competitor.

Registration will take place in three stages:

Stage 1: We would like to initially open up registration for the top 100 in our existing ranking (http://iam-stats.com/rankings.php) as well as the top 100 in our proposed new ranking of currently active athletes (http://iam-stats.com/rankings_2017.php), as well as the top 25 juniors, top 25 kids and top 5 seniors, until 1 July 2017. If you are in one of these groups (see full list below), you can register now at: https://www.cognitoforms.com/AMSI1/IAMWorldMemoryChampionshipJakartaIndonesia2017 (for competitors on the priority list outside Indonesia or China). Indonesian competitors are invited to use this link: http://indonesiamemorysportscouncil.id/world-memory-championship-2017/. Please note that Chinese athletes will register via a different link. We will post this as soon as possible.

Stage 2: Starting 1 July, registration will be open with limits for each country. We will announce these limits on 1 July. They will be based on past attendance and will also try to provide equal opportunities for all nations. As the host country, Indonesia will have a contingent of 50 athletes. China will have 20 extra spots in addition to the Chinese priority athletes. These spots will be filled at the Asian Open, taking place 26/27 August.

Stage 3: Starting 1 September, the registration will be open to all competitors with no country limits, on a first-come-first-served basis on receipt of payment.

Please note: we reserve the right to issue wild cards in special cases. Our planned total number of athletes is 225.

Please contact us at wmc2017@iam-memory.org or info@ingatangajah.com if you have any questions at all and we will be very happy to answer them. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting competition in a beautiful, warm location, and hope as many of you as possible will join us in Jakarta!
