The IAM intends to hold its first World Championships in 2017. We have set June as a target month and would now like to invite prospective organisers to apply to host the Championships. If you have a proven track record as a competition organiser and can guarantee a safe location, accessible venue and sufficient volunteers, then we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at wmc2017@iam-memory.org if you are interested. We can also inform you in more detail about the bidding criteria. Although we are aiming for June 2017, strong bids for an alternative date will of course be considered.

We are looking forward to this event and hope that as many memory athletes as possible will join us to make the IAM World Championships a strong, exciting and successful competition!

That’s something to look forward to for next year. But we still have something exciting this year: we are very pleased to announce that Ben Pridmore’s last championship of 2016, taking place 3–4 December, will now be the inaugural IAM European Open! The winner will have earned the right to be called “IAM European Champion”. We are thrilled to have memory sport’s first-ever European Championship under the IAM banner. We would like to see as many athletes as possible come along to what we hope will be a highlight of the memory year!
