Hello Memory community,
The Board had its regular meeting again on the 13th of April.
Attendants: Andrea, Charifa, Don Michael, Guillaume, Mohamed, Johannes, Simon.
The new IAM board met online to start their 2 year term.
Here is a short summary of what was discussed and decided:
The moderator for this session was Johannes Mallow and the secretary Guillaume Petit-Jean.
A chairman was chosen to be in charge of some responsibilities regarding the communication of the association and to become the face of the IAM. Simon Reinhard was unanimously chosen being an experienced member and very familiar with this role.
A weekly schedule has been decided for the board to meet and move things forward. Specific tools and channels have been selected to be used by the board members. Andrea Muzii volunteered to create a workspace and integrate it with the current tools.
Charifa Souissi has volunteered to collect emails sent to the IAM website and to organize replies.
The board has discussed the priorities of the association for the next term.
One of them being a monthly update of the IAM website for calendar and competition information. Johannes Mallow has volunteered for this work.
Simon Reinhard volunteered to harmonize all the disciplines and records appearing on the IAM website and discuss the possibility of adding continental records and picture profiles for competitors.
One priority discussed was how to make Memory League more integrated with the IAM, and how to have more in-person ML competitions (like the 2022 German open Memory league championship).
Another priority is to revamp the legal structure of the IAM in order to reduce the current operating costs, apply for tax exemption and to be able to interact better with other organizations and companies. The first step is to liquidate the current structure and create a new one.
The board closed the meeting after the tasks were assigned and will meet again next week.
